Soft Top Glue??

I have seen three tops that have pulled away from the supporting ribs.
Has anyone else had this problem?  Does anyone have a suggestion for a
brand of glue that will hold up to the flexability and heat that is
needed in this area?  Help please!  These tops are a tad too costly to
replace just because your "Little Miata" looks pregnant running down
the Interstate!!!

3M makes a glue, colloquially known as "Gorilla Snot,"that seems to have
gotten the highest marks. You can get it at most auto parts stores, so I
am told. I don’t know the part number offhand, but if it turns out to be a
problem, let me know – I have some someplace around here.

Be sure to check your warranty. When my ’93′s top pulled away from the
center rib, the dealer tried to glue it once then replaced the entire top
    under warranty.

I’ve heard that top replacement varies from dealer to dealer. Good luck.

Be careful you get the right kind of gorilla snot.  There’s also a product
that guitar players use that isn’t really a glue at all.

(How’s that for a really strange consumer warning?)

I used a product called Automotive Goop.  So far so good.  You can get it
a Home Depot and other home improvement places.
