I have a couple fine scratches. I have the touchup paint. I don’t want to
brush over the scratches, too thick. Is there a way?

This is my method, I did it on all the fine key scratches around the door
locks, worked great. Bear in mind it is quite labour intensive.
First, wax all over and around the scratches. Then, take a pin and very
lightly draw it along the scratch, to rough it and take out the wax. Takes
steady hands!
Then paint over the scratches. I laid the paint down with a fine brush, and
then smeared it down with my finger, making sure the paint was right into the scratch.
Then I left it for two weeks, to let the paint cure. Yes, it looks messy.
Then I took a polishing compound and rubbed off the extra paint. Because it’s
sitting on waxed surface, it comes off quite easy. Carefully polish until
you’re happy. Some of the scratches I did this way virtually disappeared,
others are still faintly visible. Definitely better than just painting it
with a brush.
Cheers, Michael
