This link worked for me:

(make sure to remove any line break)
Bottom line: Mazda "miscalculated" the ’01′s hp, which is actually 142,
not 155. Some interesting appeasement options are available to owners,
including free scheduled maintenance until the warranty runs out, a $500
debit card, and buyback of the car.
I think a free *charger would have been a nice gesture… :-)

There was an article in today’s Chicago Tribune Cars section. Seems Mazda
had to detune the engine to meet U.S. emission standards. The Japanese
version puts out the full 155 hp. Mazda wasn’t aware of this??? They said
they retested the hp output after magazine reviews found the 2001 0-60 times
0.5 seconds slower than the 2000 model. Duh!

It is weird anyway… cos’ the 99’00′ meet CA/NY emission are lowered to
138hp instead of 140. But then the new engine with Variable Valve timing
can meet the emission. I think i am not aware of lowered hp at particular
at California state.
i am not happy with this news… as a lite enthusiast…
glad i have a 99′. that should have bothered alot of potential buyers…
