Removed the ‘baby teeth’ on my father-in-law’s ’97 to install a towbar for
pulling behind his RV. Now we don’t know the proper torque setting for
reinstalling the bolts. My service manual is in KY (5*F) and I’m here in
FLA (70*F). Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Probably would not help you. The tie-downs are not mentioned in my
manual from Mazda, nor in Rob Grainger’s "Enthusiast’s" manual.
Presumably the thinking in both cases is that you have long since
disposed of them. IAC it would not be a critical value — you just
don’t want them falling off.

You might want to try dropping this guy
an email. All he does is trailer
hitches and accessories.
No affiliation. But he was helpful when
I was trying to install a "Bolt on"
hitch with a friend.
