I just got the matching Moss wood shifter and handbrake handles. The
shift knob is a no-brainer, but I haven’t figured out how to get the
stock plastic handbrake handle off- is the anything unfixable I can do
to it? Does it just force off? Is the new handle just a press-fit,
or does it need gluing?
Thanks!

two methods are commonly used:
grab and twist until the glue mazda uses breaks loose and the handle
slides off (use a towl for grip if needed)
Or grab a knife, cut down the length, peel back (this method being
more permanent)
Hope this helps,
