bought a new '97 for $16,800

noone replied to  my 16,500 query so I bit the bullet.   The smart dealers
have gotten rid of theirs.  Our Durham dealer still has a  NEW ’96 on
which he hopes to make a profit
Since he sold an MPV with 18k miles as new, maybe he’ll pull it off.

I got my new ’97 for $17,000. I probably could have gotten a bit more
off but… I love the car and in Hawaii they have to pay to get it here
(no, they don’t stop off on the way over from Japan). My dealer said
there were only three ’97s left when I bought (on National Miata
Weekend, March 13-15) but a week later, when I brought her in for
adjustments, there were now six more (all blue with black… and I
prefer my Classic Red… albeit common, according to some).

I wish him luck selling the ’96 as new…

    My ’94 had a sewn-in replacement when I bought it a year ago. It’s a
little rough inside where the old window was cut away, but looks perfect
from outside and never leaks a drop.

That’s what I’d try if mine leaked, the K-Kote stuff from Kenyon. Be VERY
careful if you use it, to keep it on the seams and off the window. It only
needs to seal the needle holes, not the seam edges.

Where do you get that Kkote stuff from Kenyon?  My window leaks through the
    thread holes too.
