Well, I havn’t followed this group in a while, so if I’m repeating an
already beat to death question, please excuse me.
So, are the ’99 5 spoke 15" wheels adaptable to an M1?
I’m sick of going backwards in the rain and none of the specifically wet
weather tires come in the right sizes for 14". Maybe I should just stop
screwing around in the rain and drive normal but the OEM bridgestones just
really suck.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure on the adaptability but if you went to a dealership for them
The OEM tires do suck. They are noted as
you’d pay a fortune!! I’m waiting for a set of 15" STO wheels to get
traded into the Tire Rack
a fun to break out tire but they break out way to soon for most in
here. The previous owner stuck some rally cheap Falken M+S tires on
the car prior to my buying it. They seem to be wearing very well, have
a predictable break, are quiet and handle the rain very well (Tampa,
Florida.. when it rains it comes down by the inch!). I’ll be swapping
to Yokohama AVSi’s or similar for my next set but they are nearly 40%
more expensive. If they still make A-509′s that tires is a very good
all around tire for the Miata.
Due to budget constraints the light at the end of the tunnel is being removed-mgmnt

Try Yokohama’s. I use A510′s, but I guess the closest you can get in
the States would be A509′s. Really excellent all weather tyres – well
except snow!

Sure, same bolt pattern. The new 14-inchers will fit as well.

Agreed. I dumped my OEMs for a set of Yokohama Avids, a decent all-season
tire. They handle MUCH better in the wet than the Dunlops that were on my car.
And I stayed with the 14-inch size as well. Seem to be plenty of excellent
tires in that size—what were you looking for specifically?
