Slightly off topic- RX-8

The RX-8 was displayed (look but don’t touch style) at the Cleveland
Auto Show- seems to be better looking that the pictures, and a lovely
interior- but no chance to try out the back seats yet.

Aerial jams (antenna)

Hi,
my aerial won’t go all the way down.  It goes up OK, even after I push it
in the last bit.  I’ve seen others sticking up so assume it’s a common
problem.  I did have it apart about a year ago and as I recall when it goes
up it jams one section into a plastic tube.  I made up a ring of wire and
that cured it for a while, but the problem’s back.  nyone know of a
permanent fix?

Thanks
AJ

RX-8 convertible?

Does anyone have any info at all as to whether the RX8 will get
convertibalized? If so – then I need to start saving my nickels – that
will be the second most perfect car in the world.

THanks

Greg

RX-8 questions

I was wondering if you guys knew any details on the RX-8? I haven’t seen
much in my usual magazine (Road & Track), but then again, I may have missed
an issue. The Mazda web site doesn’t reveal too much either.

Anyone know what sort of MSRP they’re thinking about? Are the performance
numbers going to put it in the niche with the 350Z? Any word on the release
date?

Timing Belt/Water Pump Installation

Hi,
I’m planning to have my timing belt and water pump changed at the same time, and would like to know all the necessary parts that I
would need.

I was thinking of just purchasing the water pump and the timing belt, but discovered that Mazda sells a "timing belt kit" which
contains the following:

1. Timing belt
2. 2 cam seals
3. Front crank seal
4. Valve cover gasket
5. Tensioner spring.

Do I need these as well?

Thanks.

Regards,
Patrick
