I’m about to embark on an exhuastive adventive. Literally(sorry couldnt
resist)
I wanting to work on my exhaust system, (well have my Bro-in-law work on
it), He owns a shop and can pretty much fabricate anything. I want some
recomendations on pipe size, catalytic convertors, and mufflers. I want
Duals, Like from the Dealer Alternative, . Has anyone seen pictures of the
kit? What about high flow catalytic convertors? What special about them?
can I just use a bigger one from some other car? can I remove it all
together, (despite the legality issues?) here in the south its a visual
inspection only of the system itself. So if i have one on there regardless
of where it came from or how well it works, it’ll still pass inspection.
I’m not at all opposed to loudness, I’ve heard some wav’s from one web site,
that put duals on, and it was wonderful!! Hp increase is the number 1 goal,
sound next, and looks third. any comments??

Dual Exhaust setups.
NONE
Please advise as I’m new to this…
I’ve been looking for a "cheap" miata. ie somthing around 2-3K.
I’ve done all the normal searches, car.com, ebay, the local papers when they have an online option, auto trader etc.
Do you have any suggestions? Also is it acceptable to post what I’m looking for here?
Thank you Debbie
Outsmarted by the clutch again
I’ve had a recurring problem since I "unstored" my ’95 M with 84k miles last
week. When I placed it in storage, the friction point had been at the very
top of the clutch travel, i.e. I almost ran out of room to let it out before
it would engage. I assumed and was told that I would soon need a new one.
However, the plot has thickened…
The last few days, the problem seems to have completely reversed itself.
Now, the clutch pedal is very loose at the top half of the travel–it seems
to do nothing but flop around up there. The friction point gets very low and
seems to get lower the longer I drive the car. If I let it sit for a while,
it’ll be up a little higher again. In fact, to shift gears after 40 minutes
on the road, I have to put the pedal on the floor to shift gears.
What the heck is going on here? Is there a fluid problem somewhere? FWIW,
when the car just gets warmed up, the clutch feels just fine, but it’s very
short-lived, and the next thing I know, I’m guessing at where the clutch
will engage and disengage at.
I’ve only had one other car long enough to have to replace a clutch (’89
Ford Taurus SHO), and when that clutch went out, it *went out*. The pedal
felt pretty normal, it was just that the engine would start to rev way up
just driving down the road (especially on hills). Anyone with more clutch
experience than myself know what’s going on? Master cylinder? Slave
cylinder?
Thanks in advance–you guys are always helpful.

Lanny's Alignment
I got Lanny’s alignment done today. Nice. This car is almost 2 years
old now, and I bought it 2nd hand in Phila. after totaling my first one.
This one didn’t handle as good as my first 2000 SE, but I have finally
gotten the alignment done and it is really nice now. The first thing I
noticed is the rear end doesn’t tend to skip or be eratic at all now,
especially when accelerating around corners, it goes through and comes
out just perfectly. Also, the front end feels tighter, no drifting at
all, just goes where you point it. I still haven’t been able to
reproduce the throttle steer around the curves everyone talks about
though, maybe I just don’t drive it hard enough or haven’t had that long
a curve. I took it home tonight after the alignment on Half Way Road,
between Middleburg and The Plains (VA)and I would say it is about 100%
improved, and it was already 300% improved from any other car I have
driven on that road. Half Way Road is posted at 45, with many 30 to 35
warning signs, but today it was 60 all the way until I got behind a
van. Just perfect control around all the curves. It even seems not to
shake as much after going over bumps or dips.
Thanks for the alignment suggestions Lanny,
Dave 2000 SE II
Chains
I’m planning on driving my miata all of this year. I get some infrequent
snows here and I was wonderin’ what experience other miata drivers had had
with snow driving. Is chains feasible on a miata.

Power windows lubrication
I installed power windows last summer, but at times the little motors
are struggling to wind the windows.
Usually it is the bottom inch or so, that’s the hardest.
Do I need to lubricate?
If so: Where and with what?

boot folding directions
Does anyone have the link to the site that has a print-out version of
instructions on folding the stock top boot? I can’t find it anymore.
Thanks,

Radiator Fan Switch
After putting a crummy aftermarket radiator fan on last fall, my relay
switch has gave up the ghost. My car has 140k on it. Any suggestions on
types or things to look out for?

Take Care!!
will any miata owners consider mini cooper and/or S ?
curious…anyone consider to replace your existing Gen I, Gen II of miata with
the upcoming mini cooper or cooper S ?
